my
cat mufasa introduced me to reiki. (laughter) he was a marvelous
little furperson, and a great teacher. years ago, he accepted a
life-threatening condition to teach me about self care. while exploring
every healing modality I could find to help him, I discovered reiki,
which helped return him to balance. for the first time, I witnessed
the awesome power of healing energy. I was present for mufasa's
first breath, his amazing recovery through reiki, and offered him
reiki while he died in my arms seventeen years later. he was an
amazing being - because of him, I found my lifepath. I honor him
with all my heart, and offer infinite gratitude.
I met reiki again while studying cultural anthropology, this time
in a case study with my beautiful master teacher, joann pun. we
shared a reiki session together, which felt like coming home, and
filled in many of the pieces I had been looking for. thank you joann,
for the greatest gift in my life!
my journey as a healer began in january of 2004. since then, I have
received twenty different levels of reiki attunements, including
master levels in: western-style usui reiki (via the takata lineage),
komyo or japanese reiki (via the yamaguchi
lineage), lightarian reiki®
and karuna reiki®.
I
am a member in good standing of the international
association of reiki professionals.
I've shared reiki with young women in recovery as a clinical practitioner,
created a low-cost, sliding-scale
reiki clinic for san francisco, lectured on reiki at CIIS
and UCSF, provided
reiki for bay area organizations like the rainforest action network,
volunteered reiki for horses at miwok stables in marin,
created the annual bay area reiki retreat, and have held reiki
space in 1,000+ sessions and hundreds of classes. every time I connect
with reiki is magic - this healing practice is warm, loving and
kind, and the most beautiful thing I know.
I
discovered reiki and shamanism in the same month, six years ago,
and have since pursued both paths. in 2008, I attended a month-long
shamanic intensive at esalen, and completed the way of the shaman
course through the foundation for shamanic studies. I'm moving into
training more deeply on the shamanic path, and am a member in good
standing of the society for shamanic practitioners.
I love reiki more than anything, and deeply enjoy supporting wellness
through reiki sessions, classes and community events. I'm joyfully
accepting reiki students and clients at this time in several US
cities, with a special welcome to my visiting international students.
I am incredibly thankful to be on the reiki path, and look forward
to supporting you. until then...
